We are redoing our kitchen, and lets say the cost is 60K+ 12K profit/Overhead (20%), includes cabinets, countertops, etc.Why do contractors calculate profit based on total cost including materials.

Call trade companies and obtain a general idea of cost for a furnace replacement, new roof (by square, 1 square = 100 sq ft), water heater replacement, cabinet costs (often by linear foot), flooring costs (by square foot), counter costs (by square foot), etc.

While the electrician still proceeded with installing the pole and the cabinet for the meter, the town will not send the inspector to complete the inspection so that the power company can disconnect the power from the house and install the meter, and the electrician can connect to the power pole.
