You should be able to document that fortunate accident and had other things like written communication, the lease itself, your past practice etc all demonstrating that your intent was to hold.  

Again, I don't know your area pricing, but based on the economies of scale doing 25 of practically the same farm houses, a good GC should be able to do that for $125 per foot or less.

The only reason to not get licensed is if you're planning on conducting shady business practices and don't want to be held accountable. 

Unless it is a really killer steal, your Practical options are probably at best to recoup any Actual expenses on this deal, and move on.

Is it better to have a website domain that is the name of our business, or something more "searchable" such as something like www.ibuymycityhouses.com?

The fees do not look terribly high to me but I don't practice in Illinois so I'm not the absolute expert on that state.  

I don't know if it's contractual, but around here it seems to be standard practice to include the inspection report with any inspection-related contract changes.
