- Can't tell you much about the market there as I left and headed back to NJ in the early 90's.But I didn't know that New London was considered South East CT (according to you and Karin DiMauro).

In my past life, I was involved with a number of these in the Southeast and the benefit is that they go up in a few days so are not open to the weather (rain for us...snow for you) and can be move-in ready in under 6 months. 

How challenging is it to navigate property investment in southeast asia if you're completely naive and don't speak the native language?

75% is pretty standard. 2 banks I have worked with on 75% LTV are Capital Bank Southeast and US Bank.

I found that LI/Brooklyn/Queens neighborhoods where househacking multifams was possible seemed to be too far for my commute to midtown Manhattan (generally around 1 hour from south/east BK/Queens).
