Fees do not apply to check writing for investing in alternative investments such as real estate, or when processing a solo 401k participant loan.

Be mindful that there is sometimes very little incentive for a borrower to participate in a short sale.  

I fortunately did not get scammed and used my discernment to not participate in the claims and remarks he makes but did speak with him on the phone before he tried his same scheme that he uses with most people which is too smart/slick talk you into giving in a certain amount of money (after detailing you on what he has done, how people have schemed him blah blah) for some promises and then disappears.

There's a wealth of info here and many Denver area members that actively participate in the forum.  

Main you need to keep in mind is that Realtor's want to get paid and anything they feel that can take away from that they are hesitant to participate in.
