Thus far I've built what many would consider a successful career as a sales leader in the Fintech space, though I work 11-12 hour days and my time and attention are absorbed by the business (that doesn't belong to me). 

Problem is if their "leaders" encourage them to achieve changes in ways that come back and bite them in the butt.

If a bar sells beer at happy hour for $2 as a special (loss leader), and a new owner takes over and raises that to $5..is he screwing people? 

As a real estate investor you're a housing provider, a neighborhood beautifier, a job & opportunity creator, a leader... 

I agree with Luke that you're better off going it alone until you're seasoned enough to be the leader of the pack and savvy enough to maintain control. 

I think joining a team is a great first step and having a strong leader in that team who is willing to mentor you and help you along the way is a huge help.

If you are a reader, the are some great books written by some of the Bigger Pockets leaders as well that are great resources.
