Before investing in any area, conduct thorough research, consult with local real estate professionals, and assess factors like job growth, crime rates, school quality, and demographic trends.

The prices were outrageous, and the quality of things like produce had really gone downhill.

Ask whomever them do they invest, do they have any property management experience in the asset quality you are looking to acquire,  how much experience do they have in that, etc. 

And for a property of that caliber, I highly recommend you spend the money on a professional photographer for high quality and artistic photos.  

Employee Management: Given the absentee nature of the business, how do you ensure quality staff performance and customer service in your absence?

Preparing high quality, whole foods takes a lot of time and effort and with a busy life it's easy to revert to something quick and easy (which is normally not as healthy).

That's unusual, because HD has to add their cut on top of the Contractor...Was the work high quality?
