Hey all - what are you getting for your 3BR vouchers on the Westside of Chicago - 60623?

She is 4 months in to a year long lease with a Section 8 housing voucher.

Sect 8 and other subsidy providers will have to increase vouchers to get secure doors for tenants if that space becomes more competitive.

So basically, you can choose whomever you want to live with you.If you do not live in this building, many state have laws protecting section 8 voucher holders. 

Unfortunately the waiting list for Section 8 is closed right now so I can't even get a real timeframe on a voucher, but, it sounds like we're talking several years. 

I am sending you a W9 so that we can issue a voucher to you on her behalf.

Use their vouchers.

I am very, very green on this- landlords have more leverage with tenants because there are no more vouchers being issued.

Also smaller buildings even SINGLE FAMILY HOUSES and smaller mom and pop landlords will be more open to rent controls.There are also pushes in cities like Long Beach and Santa Monica for mandating voucher programs.
