I get the reference and I don't disagree with the basic premise - having enough financial freedom to avoid doing a lot of things you don't want to do - but there's really no such thing as an FU number, as we all need each other fulfilling our roles in society in order to even have a number.

Problem(s):If I'm looking at a multifamily property that is fully occupied with, for example, two one year leases and two month to month leases, do I start moving on the property and give notice to one of the month to month tenants that I'm not renewing their lease in 60 days, so that I can move in - and fulfill VA occupancy requirements?

Not an attorney... but it sounds like:A)  The buyer did not fulfill their obligations so the contract is null and void and you're entitled to the EMD (assuming that's how the contract is written) and...B)  A mutual release is still required if you want to follow the letter of the law.
