As your looking for a mentor (which everyone recommends for good reason) approach in in 4 ways. 1) Start doing some pre-work like reading a few books, listen to some podcasts, watch the free training videos on bigger pockets. 2) Put some time in thinking what investing strategy really interests you (and there is no way they all do).  3) Take some time and write out a little resume of what you offer.

Not necessarily rejected, sometimes people drop off resume even if there's no job vacancy.

The bank (Wachovia) is constantly sending him letters wanting him to resume his mortgage with them but he is firmly opposed to going back to his old house.
