As you can see from the pictures, the house needs a TOTAL remodel.

So I was fortunate enough to have my parents sign over a 2 family house to me which I have spent out of pocket $50,000 in remodeling costs.

Hi Dave, same thing with my story I started out with looking at already good remodeled homes that I can rent out.

I have experience with remodeling and used to be an Apprentice Plumber/HVAC tech, so that's why I'm thinking the first property that I get should be a Fix/flip to then turn around and fund a larger deal with the money made from that. 

I help run a family business that does log home restoration and remodeling all over the lower 48. 

The unit is over 50 years old and I’m planning on having quite a bit more maintenance than I’m used to and having to do quite a bit of remodeling while i have vacancies, as there is good potential for increasing rents.

A full exterior/interior rehab will run at about 60k, so you need about 50 years to save up the funds needed for remodelling.
