Kitchen basic maple cabinets (oven, gas stove, dishwasher, disposal, microwave, refrigerator :: no preference on white, black or stainless steel) all basic material.

@Ryan Steele makes a very good point about "professional" tenants.

I used steel door frames, heavy duty deadbolts and peepholes with a cover.

Anyone familiar w/ steel buildings in a residential homes use? 

@Brian Dwyer I am currently working with The Beck Group on a large retail project (multiple steel framed retail buildings) in Ft.

. - Plan to upgrade the units: I'll be starting with my unit first :) Stainless Steel Appliances, Hardwood flooring, re-doing the bathroom.

I had read somewhere on BP that the steel kitchens were a definite downgrade on a rental. 

The same tenants broke several garbage disposals by putting bottle caps and steel utensils down the drain.If you want really good stories ask a septic pumper (aka a honey dipper) for their oddest septic finds! 

My mind is like a broken steel trap,  but I do recall this being mentioned briefly in one of BP's podcasts.
