There seems to be some root issues to explore. 

After hosting 4 people for the holidays, we suddenly had a major plumbing issue... turns out, a root has broken into the main... so stuff happens, sometimes timing is weird!  

They say that if you have to struggle it means so much more when you are victorious - that's why everyone roots for the underdog.

I do take persistent hormone-affecting plastics very seriously, but the scare paragraphs are really, really not reflected in the abstract. 

Your current structure is unknown to me, so this is an assumption.Before considering taking on the management yourself, I would ask for more documentation of the repairs (pictures, root cause, material list, labor cost, etc.) and ask to be consulted before maintenance work is completed.

So if your basement wall is leaking, the root cause is almost always unmanaged surface water.Gutters: take a look at a downspout during a thunderstorm - it looks like a firehose!

Most importantly: manage your surface water, gutters and downspouts - the root cause of most basement issues.

Looking to get into the Knoxville, TN market since my family has roots there.
