Tax revenues, they collect is needed to fund schools, hospitals, police departments, fire departments, build and repair roads, and fund libraries and of course pay the public servant at each county office.

Some are regional in scope and others are only valid inside a city.Every single program was custom developed locally, usually by civil servants and liberal agenda-driven citizens who clearly don't understand what a "free market mechanism" is, much less how to design one that's actually functional.

Heck, there are times the far right would like to dump him because he has gone against the Republican party.There has been talk of Obama on this board and I have seen him rise to power in my own backyard, but Obama has more or less worked as a civil servant or politician his whole career and I have always have felt that if I vote for someone they should have at one point worked in the private sector.

I think politicians who are well-entrenched have a certain arrogance that causes them to behave as if they are above the law.This arrogance seems to trickle down to all levels of government employees, many of whom behave as if they are doing us a favor when they are doing their jobs.What happened to the concept of a public "servant."

The trompe l'oeil wall treatment on both stories of the great hall is still in amazing shape despite a handful of small cracks in the plaster.The original kitchen on the back of the house and the servants quarters above have been converted into an 2-bedroom apartment (I would guess back in the 40s based upon the age of the appliances - there's a 1930s/40s electric range which is in like-new condition.Similarly, the gardener's quarters in the walk-out basement has been turned into a 1-bedroom apartment - probably in the 1950s.
