While it's true that some Floridians are moving out, particularly due to rising insurance costs and other economic pressures, Florida continues to see a net influx of residents.

So I hired a company to pressure wash my apartments (8 units) in New York State and the guy fell off the roof.   

Don't feel pressured to move to a huge city in order to be successful.

The silver lining to that is that, because rents increases have been suppressed for a while, there should be some upward pressure on them to snap back up after home prices start to rise again, which is effectively happening now because rates finally went down.
