There were some periods of really bad construction over the years and some questionable materials used, just learn to avoid that and do due diligence on any home new or old, at least on the old ones it’s easy to see if the foundation is going to sink or not, if it was gonna sink it would have started by now.

Do NOT do a handshake deal or T&M (time and materials) because a lot of guys turn into dairy farmers and in the end the cost is double what they said it would be and then they just look like the Olsen twin meme with their hands in the air like they didn't know.
