I tried 5 different companies and they all said the same thing..Yeah, that was the issue I had--the roofers were not enthused about coming out to repull the permit.Did it pass the roof final in '98 when it was built?

So when the lead inspector comes I tell the roofer to get lost just in case the lead guy wants to get into it about lead certs and separate permits for painting the fascia and soffits.

We do finish work, we are also particular.We hire out rough electrical and rough plumbing, roofers and framing (if we're adding on), insulation, replacing/hanging exterior doors, replacing windows (though we stain and finish any windows/doors before our contractor installs them)We do this all on weekends or days we take off from work.

Long story short, don't be scared off by the mansard, there are lots of options to make it work.PS: If you get a roofer to do the work they might try and charge you extra for working a steep pitched roof.
