The event was supposed to be a workshop to help us all learn about real estate investing, when in fact it was all a sales pitch!! 

We built a cabin on our land that was supposed to be my workshop, then were forced to move into it due to a job loss - but it's not our "main" home.

My dad and I actually did the Flipping Formula 3-day workshop last month (that was my introduction to Flipping Houses also...), and looking back, I wish I had not attended.

And I am so happy to have found a community of people doing the same thing (and not charging all the crazy workshop fees).

I was recently at an REI workshop and the speaker said that banks are required by government to provide funding to REIs looking to invest in properties to provide housing to the community.

The workshops are geared towards owners/buyers/sellers, but attendees will also include professionals in the industry like manufacturers, community owners/managers, suppliers, financial service providers, insurers, and retailers.
