From an appreciation standpoint, it's hard to say that a home built in the 1970s will likely appreciate less than one built today. 

If you have the money and a financial foundation to do that then that seems ideal.

As of right now with today’s numbers and rates, and if I’m right around what Airdna and all the other sites estimate, I’ll be just about breaking even.
