If you are in direct competition then you probably get irked from time to time, but if you value their services in the market, like you value not having to go to china and source your lightbulbs yourself - well you might like them.of course they are not investors, just like contractors, agents, loan originators, stores that sell kitchen cabinets etc are not investors, but they are suppliers to investors - so they are of great interest to investors - and maybe the increase in knowledge gained at BP will increase their value added.

There's a lot of things being developed (i.e. the increased container business, auto export, a new consolidated airport downtown that will likely be international, the redevelopment of Broad Street, the redevelopment of downtown Mobile, city council announced in July they are talking with another Airbus supplier to move to Brookley Field, the development of the Technology Corridor downtown) all of which are going online now, next year and the years to come.

During acquisition I like to offer around 1-3months average profit for down payment, on the the condition that the owner is willing to stay around for a short term to introduce me to "company contacts" (Suppliers, Key clients, VIP associates, and employees, etc) This gives me the peace of mind and them the same of actually being on the same page.
