I was thinking about a double close to solve that in a technical sense (lender sells note to capital markets so they may or may not be ok with a technical workaround), but anything else stick out off the top of your head?

Speaking as a former Home Inspector, I would try and find one that has either a building or engineering background, these guys/gals will give you the most thorough (and least alarmist) view of the property.Ask to see one of their reports....
