And some are bullies and use people's fear of lawyers to get their way.So, I see your issues as two-fold:1) The lawyer is interfering with your business - you can get him to back off by letting him know you know he can get in major trouble with the bar association if he keeps this up.

I currently do a month to month and my thought behind it is the benefit is 2-fold...1) If the tenants end up being a less than desirable (for one of many reason) You as the property owner can give them a 30-notice and aren't necessarily stuck with them for months and months 2) If the tenants want to break the lease it's going to happen regardless of how many months are left on the lease.
