Hey again Steve - from what I know - there is a decent amount of hardware & nanotech going on... more so than traditional software startups like you've got in NY or SF... it's on my list of things to do to start doing some networking and figure out what's going on... it seems that most of the activity is north of the twin bridges... 

If you have a lot of expenses from the hardware store and no labor expense to install those materials, they would probably assume you are doing the work yourself, and could decide to call that a benefit to the plan worthy of a prohibited transaction... or not.BUT...  

The rest was spent on hardware (plumbing, electrical, 2x4's, sheet-rock etc.)

I couldn't "start over".What got me to pull out my wallet was this: think of it as a franchise fee.

The complete kit includes all the parts (fill, flush, flapper, bowl hardware and gasket/seals, etc)...Also, maybe make sure the tenants don't put those bleach drop ins in the toilet tank which have corroded my gaskets prematurely.
