Some company’s enjoy making profit being a middle-supplier versus an end-supplier.

One of the bigger oil field pipe suppliers has been servicing that area out of their Houston and Odessa locations but is talking about opening up a Pleasanton which should bring in a number of higher paying jobs.  

I could see if you always moved cases of a product as a supplier for 30 years, that you would do mental math in “cases” as it would be natural to you (a case could be 20, 24, 30, etc.). 

Joint venture with someone you trust, you be the money supplier and they handle the job and you guys split the profit when the project is done which might work if your still working and you have an iron clad agreement drawn up first.3.

We just got the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino contract, and we are one of the largest alternative energy suppliers in the State right now, if not the Country.  

This would be like you buying a Ford car and every time something went wrong Ford would just blame their suppliers and then blame you saying that you weren't educated enough about the automobile supply chain.

This argument is just so outrageous that I'm frankly surprised their lawyers bought off on it.I've led Strategic Sourcing groups for two Fortune 500 companies before, where my sole job was to negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers and draft contracts with our corporate legal teams, ranging in amounts of up to tens of millions of dollars.  

My PM also knows local contractors and specialists, so when something does come up, he has more bargaining power than I would, and is able to recommend reputable suppliers.

Mother Nature, permitting, contractors, suppliers.
