I think some good ideas have cropped up back 6-7 months ago when this was first discussed, I guess on Fund III.

I would get a mortgage statement and payoff statement to get an exact idea of what you need to do to get current.

My original idea was to "house hack" and buy a duplex to live in one unit which he advised against.

@Charlie KrzysiakHouse hacking right out of college is a great idea, but buying a condo with an FHA loan comes with pros and cons.

This is an interesting idea - I've actually thought about it a lot lately. 

This also begins YOUR title seasoning, so that when you're ready to take out a traditional mortgage, you can refinance and pay off the seller without a title seasoning issue. you can buy title insurance from the title company at closing. this is a good idea.
