Indio does don't have limitations just don't buy in an HOA unless it's Terra Lago and Indian Palms Country Club those are the only ones that allow it.

@Travis AndresNone are in HOAs except for one in Terra Lago.

We still used our standard "magnolia spray" for the living room and entrance, but painted the end wall of the living room in "terra cotta" as an accent wall {reds ... four bloody coats}.
