Best protection for you is to check with your insurance and see if any breeds would not be covered under your plan's liability protection. 

We don't currently place any restrictions on breed, although I know a lot of investors do. 

Hi Bradley,It might be smart to call the property owner and see what the actual policy is for this.If it's no pets, then Grandfathering in the Pet Owners (allowing them to keep leasing with pets) might be a good business move.And as a Property Manager, I'm sure you know, some of the units will have "Secret Pets" that are not on the lease.Secret cats, I just don't see them--they are invisible.Secret Puppies and Dangerous Breeds gotta go. 

Do you have a weight limit on dogs to keep the potential "dangerous" breeds away, or do you find that most folks don't travel with their 100 lb Rotty?
