Maybe you are not getting the full picture of the information.For a credit account for example that defaults internal collection ensues then quickly if no payment usually they close the account and discharge the debt off the books and sell to an asset purchasing company.

You should be able to qualify for an FHA (or FHA 203K) loan two-years after your discharge date as long as you show a solid employment history.
