Lassen, the Sacramento River and Shasta Dam, plus more.

Working from the core of town - first off the beautiful Sacramento River flows through the town, then there is Sundial Bridge and Turtle Bay Museum. 15 minutes from that there (west) is Old Shasta State Historical Park, (northwest) is Shasta Dam, and Lake Shasta (it has over 365 miles of shoreline) 30 minutes north of Redding is Shasta Caverns which offers tours and is also on the lake.

In fact bought large tracts of land in Mohave County Arizona just across Hoover dam from Las Vegas. 

One wall had an 8" bow and the former owners had attempted to shore it up with vertical metal beams that did nothing, they looked like toothpicks trying to hold back a bursting dam!

Once the insulation is down we run 2x4 strappings along each rafter (anchored through all the foam to the rafter) to provide ventilation channels (we live in a snow climate and ice dams are a fact of life).  

Avoid swimming pools, dangerous stairs, ice dams, shaded north-facing walk areas or driveways that won’t melt, doors without locks, sketchy existing tenants, etc.9.
