Are there any good subscriptions I should look into (like magazines, newspapers, etc) that anyone would recommend?

A few are below in no particular order.Grocery store checkout magazine barometer - if Time, People and those other yappy magazines start having cover page headlines about new stock market strategies, "new economy" stories, "how to invest in gold or real estate" stories and so on, proceed with caution. 

As a New Yorker I speak my mind.

The marketing would include open houses, professional photos, Facebook ads, newspaper or magazine ads, eFlyers to other agents, flyer hard-copies for the open house, door hangers when door knocking, etc.

Write an article in a local magazine, sponsor a youth sports team, or place an ad in neighborhood newsletters.

I remember when I was renting, landlord left in the house a bottle of wine, basket with fresh fruits, and some good magazines/brochures about things to do/entertainment, shopping information, and all other good stuff in the area. 

Being a New Yorker and hearing all the horror stories about Professional Tenants I decided to invest in a Red State, without getting too Political all I will say is when you do your research you will find Red States are more Landlord Friendly...
