I also spoke with my insurance provider and they assured me they cover STR...in addition I have an umbrella policy.

I would also recommend looking into an umbrella policy if you haven't already as we did both, the umbrella and title transfer, on our most recent rental.  

I'd encourage you to speak to an attorney to make sure you are set up with good protection to cover any incident that may happen i.e. umbrella policy or increased liability coverage. 

I always got a DP3 policy (ask your broker) with $500K liability on my rentals, topped off by a $2M liability umbrella off my personal residence.

I use a property management company and am umbrella policy to mitigate risk.

Feels like extending my umbrella policy to cover the S/MTR would be a good idea.

Time and time again while on these forums people kept saying just get an umbrella policy.

Insurance would cover it, I would pay the deductible, and no assets would be lost.If you are in an area like San Diego where people are more likely to sue, a judge is more likely to find you guilty, and the payout is expected to be higher, you may consider an umbrella insurance policy.

Is there an umbrella policy of some sort that would work?
