When someone wants to send you a referral privately, they are probably sending you a friend that pays them a referral fee.

Credit cards have the same limitation on the amount you can borrow and will likely end up costing more than private lenders.

Yeah I am a huge proponent of free markets and private property rights.

But now, consumers will get a check for $13 each and have little force lobbying for private property rights. 

Also, if this is something that you are looking for in a hard money lender, you might want to look into more of a private money lending model verse anything else.
