They told you they would offer you some discounts and let you join the online group which they created on the last day.If the program does worth it, what you will lose is only 299$ that you pay for the 3 days event because you can always attend the event again and pay 299$ to get the discount. ( I believe you won't do it after you calm down and see the BiggerPockets website.)

Because it is mostly cosmetic, the cost to remodel isn't horrible but you can still get the properties at a discounted rate.

Buy at a minimum 10% discount so you can sell if you hate it.

In exchange for a reasonable discount of course. 

We can discuss what was required, why it was purchasable at a discount, and current value (and value after last rehab).  

Is this too much to ask for or is there a way to make the numbers work as the single family is already discounted by being included in the sale of the apartment building. 

Real estate wholesalers buy contracts and then sell them to people who are interested in buying a property, usually at a discount.

This is still a huge discount over what a wholesaler would sell an equivalent house for in my market.

While they are living there and doing renovations, I will discount the rent and apply the discount to the renovations.
