And if it looks like something you still want to do, then pick a state and contact the County Treasurer in that State, and they'll be able to give you a list of the tax properties in the area for either free on their website, or for a small fee to have a paper copy mailed to you.

Again, in my state, the contract rules and tax proration credits are final unless you can show that the tax credits given were in error and not in compliance with the terms of the contract.I've represented Buyers at closings in Illinois where the Seller wanted to give a lower tax credit because "we applied for a senior exemption and you will get it on the next tax bill" or "we applied for a certificate of error and expect the county treasurer to amend/lower the current tax bill later."
