I am from Cleveland and I can tell you it is a perfect place for REI.Yes, many of the homes are a bit older, but for many tenants that adds to the charm.

Both of my STRs are older, but I use the character of the houses as part of my "charm." 

As a matter of fact, I would play it up (and provide an oh so subtle warning) in your description.....something maybe like "As you approach our charming house, you will enjoy the long drive up the hill through a beautiful park-like setting"

But it has an unknown charm to it that I do not believe hardly anyone knows of yet. from talking to people who invest in Camden, you can buy a townhouse for around 60k, spend about 20k in repairs and rent it for $1000-$1200/month.

Part of the charm of those old apartments is how spacious they can be.
