Up to you - there are definitely perks to using an agent, especially if it's someone who works often with investors and knows how to market them.

We are wondering how to go about showing proof of funds if the deal ends up being an on-market deal.Any advice would be helpful.

Also side note, I wouldnt say I am an experienced investor - I have only done 6 personal deals so far -  but definitely knowledgeable in my market! 

Syndications and funds are a great, truly passive real estate investments that can marinate while you are still over there.I wonder if you've thought about investing where you are now and using real estate as a bridge to potential dual citizenship there.

Definitely ask.
