Wear around heavy traffic pieces is the main issue I've had (around pulls or doors that get used a lot); high gloss and good paints help but I still have to repaint the color every four-five years.

You could try a high gloss paint which will help, you should be able to clean it rather than repaint every time.

I recently realized we needed one color of paint and trim for all properties so that repaints and touchups would be easier.
