Through no fault of their own, the 2nd hand smoker, especially in the days when airlines were allowing smoking, can develop and have been proven to have higher incidence of cancer.The "empirical cost" was not paid at all by the Tobacco companies and in fact, developed propaganda campaigns to mislead the public.After the mounting evidence reached a certain point, taxes on Cigarettes skyrocketed, for at least 2 reasons. 1) to discourage the use of cigarettes so you DON'T have an increase of getting cancer and 2) to help pay for some of the empirical costs associated with the healthcare costs.In the case of Investors following the OP's strategy is one that I have personally seen time and time again.

Though I couldn't really appreciate it...What pulled the trigger was an incidence that I attempted to take down a broken drop ceiling tile, but ended up with all the dust and mouse droppings above it falling all over my face......This is a minor cosmetic job completed in three and half day by my contractor and one of his guy.

Various ways and databases to look in to find claims history.I dont work a lot on the commercial side, however know the underwriting guidelines are a bit more exhaustive vs a typical residential policy.As Chante stated, make sure the incident was a covered loss, and keep in mind if it hailed more than once, or there was a wind storm one month, tree branch fell the following week, then a hail storm 2 weeks later all in the same summer - those are 3 separate claims/events.
