As a parent of three girls I give you much respect for doing what your doing especially from a far!

The probate letter with the sappy, sepia tone little girl on the swing kind of got my goat, though...

I am an active real estate investor from Los Alamos, NM, among many other things (mother of 2 pre-teen girls, executive director of a research organization, partner in local startup VC, humble servant of 2 bengal cats).

At this point, I havent found a mentor in the area yet, so I'd like to know what you guys/girls suggest?

Jeff, we have a friend in the area that wants to list our rental property in royal oak for this reason, and is the same question weve been pondering..

We're pondering the same question here as well... and actually coming up with some of the same ideas for solutions.One of the biggest challenges we've had is that tradesmen with lots of 'hands on' experience tend to be the worst organizational thinkers in the land, and are oftentimes stuck in their ways and refuse to consider alternative means of managing a project.

Please, if you're an investor who's willing to show a newbie about real estate investing, I am your girl.

I am still pondering over it and would be grateful of your advice.What If I take a 50% stake in the property and 50% stays with the owner.

We plan to start locally because its affordable and we know the area, but I'm an ocean girl at heart and really hope to move into other markets at some point ; ) I'm hoping to gain a lot of insight here and looking forward to having people to bounce ideas off of and hope I will be able to do the same for others!
