It does have 2 separate entrances from the outside.It is currently like this:1st floor - 3 bedroom apt (but very strange layout)2nd floor - 2 bedroom apt3rd floor - 1 bedroom apt.He says I should change the 1st floor so that it has two 1 bedroom apartments. 

I am a tenant and I lost they key to my the entrance of my apartment building.

The only entrance was through the master bedroom...had to go through the master, down a long hall, to get to the living room.
