I agree with everyone about the laundry - seems odd and no one wants to think about washing their skivvies while having dinner.

You would be better off knocking on neighbors' doors and offer $50 for dinner.

That’s less than a nice dinner.  

Or, they could go with a house that is 5 bedroom for $400 a night, have a back yard and a place to have dinners together and have a lot more privacy than a hotel.Or a college reunion, or a wedding group and so on.They save money and get better accomodations by pooling their money.

Tell him to take his family out to dinner for a couple hours so you can do your inspection. 

Back in the day, ~2011/12 when everyone was jumping on the band wagon of trying to get a deal, claiming they had the bigger offer, I would tell people I GUARANTEE I would bring them the BIGGEST check of ANYONE, and if I didn't I'd give em a free steak dinner for whole family just for hearing me out.
