So many areas claim to be the 'new' South Side or Lawrenceville but there is not enough economic demand to revitalize all depressed areas of Pittsburgh.

Although I don't actually own a rental, I've been looking at the markets to get a rental, and in my distressed and depressed county (Solano County California, one of the worst in the Country) many people have opted to do this same thing, thus flooding the market with rentals.

They are stuck in the depressing Midwest and would love to leave but can't. 

Equities are down big, real estate values generally have been depressed, but farmland has run up appreciably.
