The economy is really taking its toll here, as tourism is down.

Look at year round tourism numbers.

My wife is from Vietnam, which is where her parents still live, so we will need to make trips out to visit with them, which is another reason I need to be available to travel for periods of time without the fear of losing my job, my only steady income stream. 

You have two primary market forces in Guam - the US Military and tourism.  

@Alan Ford The fires caused 2500 cabins to burn down but tourism has been up 1m per year for the last three years.  

Hopefully they start to reopen June 1 but I am concerned at how long it will take all the supporting business (restaurants, PMs, housekeepers, etc.) to staff up to really support the tourism influx once it comes.

There has been an uptick in outdoor recreation-based tourism there over the past few years (many of Colorado's 14ers are nearby), but the economy is still largely dependent on the Climax mine, which is dependent on the global demand for steel so it experiences large boom and bust cycles.

I would not be too quick to judge the recovery of the tourism industry on the island until the season gets into full-swing.

I'm buy and hold with Vassar Hospital, Marist expansion and tourism; it will be a good rental.

The rising gas prices and inflation slowed down tourism for the summer of 2022 and we did not meet our projections.
