Oil spills wipe right up or wash off with dish soap when sealer is applied but the stuff I use is 180 dollars for 5 gallons.

Los Angeles is also LA city vs county vs surrounding area...a bunch of urban sprawl with not much undeveloped land in between (besides urban infill) ...like compare investing in LA to investing in San bernardino or some other inland satellite city of LAA lot of people don't realize how close all these overlapping cities are to LA-- from Santa Barbara down to San Diego there's ton's of cities to invest in.

And yes, I got some of the same grief for this decision as has been dished out in this thread.

But I lived that life for 3 months and it isn't unmanageable either.Here are some tips if you are living there:  goose down comforter, heavy blankets, space heaters, crockpot, microwave, electric griddle, heat water with your coffee maker to wash dishes, stand away from the shower spray and bathe more sponge bath style.  

@Steve Vaughan, while none of my units have a fridge with a water line, they all have dish washers. 

Back home in Jersey, as you know, we call that someone who can dish it but he can't take it.

They own media, copper, fiber, cellular and satellite spectrum.

There was already a satellite dish on the roof so it was easy to add a box to the HD TV.

I would cut my expenses out as much as possible (no cable/dish/netflix, limited eating out and going to bars, etc), work at the job for another 3 months or so to save as much as possible and then go all in.
