Anyways my balance sheet is clean Id say net worth of $2m+ not counting businesses, my only debt is $80,000 or so left on car I financed but I have a $1.3M home and owe $280k on, a vacation home worth $600k I owe $240k on, and about $500k in the form of 4 rental properties that are all paid off and producing rental income.

@Mary Rutten@Scott Schultz   Mary I don't think Scott was talking about your guest speakersits well known that the bigger players in a market will troll the REIA's looking for newbies and dump houses on them that they may or not make money on.Eddie speed is there to sell his guru note courses... its how they drum up business.. these guys are all on a circuit and REIA's are part of the circuit.that said I have fond memories my Grandfather had a cottage on Lake Poygan out of Winneconnie  not sure if I am spelling those correctly.. but I spend many summers there in the late 60's and have very fond memories.I also remember though going back in the mid 80s with a car I rented in IL  and getting chased off of the driveway into the cabin by locals who I guess don't really like IL residents..

@Adonte LipsconbRead the longer BP post from Steven Songleton regarding investments in Raleigh at https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/55/topics/369...In my honest opinion, Cary, North, West, and Northwest Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Southwest Durham, and Chapel Hill are the nicest areas of the Raleigh-Durham Metro to live in, but that also means you'll pay premium pricing.

I do pretty ok and am fairly happy.A few years ago as I drove around in my car, I found myself asking the same question over and over, "Who owns all these big houses and how can they afford it?"
