I'm thinking the newspaper is still a legit place to locate property outside of the obvious word of mouth. 

You can find them by driving around and finding them(look for a lockbox on the door but no sign in the yard, tall grass, no window coverings, piled up newspapers, etc.)Once you find the properties, then you have to mail a letter to the owner of that property.

It's advertised in a major Chinese newspaper, Sing Tao (strong group of Chinese buyers in this area). 

Check your local newspaper for the NOD/NOS pre foreclosures

I usually check the classified posting in the online news paper.

Also check the newspaper, ask around, & Craigslist.

They have to "telegraph" both directions, and all this as the track leads straight into a brick wall. 

Get your information from  other Successful investors, local newspapers, management companies, RE agents, local REIA groups etc..Good luck
