It could be opened online but the final wire has to go to US bank account in US dollars.You need: rental agreements in english, bank statements translated to english and original ones, your Canadian revenue filings past 2 years, a US FICO score or we build credit history... 

Most will go to a few bigger cities, mostly English speaking cities, unless the govt encourages them to spread out which would actually be good. 

@Will Barnard  Thank you for the detailed in plain English explanation on page 2 of this thread and elsewhere with the possibilities for multi-family. 

Many of them don’t speak English very well and are simple folks.

State of FL investigators call these operators "predators" and state the most common "victims" are those will a poor grasp of the english language and the elderly.

If it's a metal geodesic dome and your main house is an English cottage it's going to bring value down.  

I also tend to get 2-3 messages a week from folks asking me the same thing.The forums will tell you Bagley, University District, East English Village, and some others.

I love Facebook, but I agree with everyone here that it has a ton of lookie-loos and button pushers.Once a day I sit down and copy and paste the same response (in English and Spanish) to new messages, and work through questions from anyone responding before.
