Write a short cover letter explaining that you did not report the cost basis of sold investments, and that it is attached now. 

Next thing you know my customer base writes bad reviews, stops coming, etc.

So far, I haven't totally let it go but use it to write messages/reviews, and then manually send them or submit the review.
