I am a stage 4 cancer survivor who hopes to leave my current job within one year to do real estate investing full time as I need a better way to pay medical bills and be able to pay for current and future medical care.

Before hearing/researching this angle, I was pretty gung-ho on accomplishing/refining the wholesaling technique in investing before others.If I plan to be trained and sponsored by the Keller Williams firm, should I realistically  give up hopes on developing proficient wholesaling skills?

I have strong communication skills and a lot of sales experience due to my printing and solar business.

Where did you learn the skills needed to do rehabs/flips?

I am now trying to get back in the game and utilize the skills and experience I have to rebuild my portfolio and to start rehabbing again which is my passion.I would want to hear from anyone who has any leads on properties that are for sale, any reports that I can review for Marketing: probate, divorce, pre-foreclosures, foreclosures etc. 

Everyone has a different skill set, so be careful with any advice you get.  

Buying a rental property during medical school?

We have 750+ credit scores, decent liquidity for a down payment (we can put 25-30% down), we have modest but stable income, but we have tremendous student loan debt from law school and medical school.

REI brings a lot of my skills into play: building construction and maintenance, dealing with people.

Will I have to use licensed contractors or will I be able to do any work myself (a skilled relative)?
