several alternatives:- use company like prosper to gain equity- sell the house and use your name for mortgage, then immediately buy house that has adu and/or basement. - move out of california (the usual way), move to hawaii or florida or somewhere nice.- build bathroom/door in the old home so home is househackable.- move to senior complex. i design my future as well following the second recommendaion that i wrote above
