If existing sheetrock can be replaced (or supplemented with) a product like Quiet Rock (sound dampened sheet rock) or Green Glue (sound dampening material that goes between sheet rock / drywall layers) I think you would get a significant reduction in conversations being heard in adjacent rooms.

The inspection report came back with multiple major issues:- Roof: instead of removing the older shingles before placing the new ones old they went ahead and place the new shingles on top of the old ones, meaning insurance won't cover me, being the older layer is more than 15 years old.

The conductors are insulated separately, then combined together into a cable, which has an additional layer of insulation (aka "sheathing").The cables should be marked with a gauge.
